MANAGING PARTNER ON MIAMI'S URBAN TRAIL
Central Civil served as managing partner for Phase 1 of The Underline — Miami's transformative 10-mile linear park and urban trail built beneath the Metrorail corridor. The Underline reimagines the underutilized right-of-way beneath Miami-Dade's elevated rail system as a continuous public greenway connecting Brickell to Dadeland.
Phase 1 civil work included underground utilities, drainage, paving, site grading, and all civil infrastructure required to convert the transit corridor right-of-way into a park-quality public space. As managing partner, Central Civil coordinated with Miami-Dade Transit operations, the City of Miami, and the Friends of The Underline throughout the construction program.
The Underline has become one of Miami's most celebrated public infrastructure projects and a national model for urban trail development. Central Civil's role as managing partner reflects the firm's capacity to lead complex public realm infrastructure programs in active transit environments.
