Central Civil served as prime contractor on the $36.6 million US1 Bus Lanes Segment II project for Miami-Dade Transit — the largest highway contract in the firm's bus lane portfolio. The scope included construction of approximately 6.2 miles of new 2- to 3-lane busway from Homestead to Florida City, including storm drainage, earthwork, soil contamination remediation, paving, curbing, walks, signalization, lighting, and landscaping.
The project included reconstruction of major intersections and adjacent roadways, construction of two bridges, and installation of seventeen bus shelters serving the South Miami-Dade corridor. Soil contamination remediation was a significant component of the scope, requiring environmental management protocols throughout.
