DESIGN-BUILD DRAINAGE AND ROADWAY ON MIAMI BEACH
Central Civil served as general contractor and design-build partner on the $12.4 million Lower North Bay Road Improvements project for the City of Miami Beach. The scope encompassed complete design and construction of drainage improvements, water main replacement, and full roadway and hardscape reconstruction from Chase Avenue to 20th Avenue and Michigan Avenue — a three-year program from July 2014 through January 2017.
The drainage scope included over 6,000 linear feet of culverts up to 42 inches in diameter, over 80 drainage structures, and a large dual pump station with ocean outfall to address the chronic flooding conditions along Lower North Bay Road. Over 7,000 linear feet of water mains and 150 domestic services were replaced throughout the corridor.
Complete roadway reconstruction and right-of-way improvements included landscaping and lighting, delivering a fully upgraded public streetscape alongside the critical drainage and utility infrastructure improvements.
