Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts

Central Civil performed site work for the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami under a $2.7 million subcontract with Odebrecht Construction. The scope included clearing and grubbing, basement excavation, tunnel excavation, contaminated soil removal, structural excavation and backfill, and cut and fill to subgrade for both interior and exterior areas of the performing arts center.

The project required complex excavation in a dense urban setting, with contaminated soil removal adding environmental management requirements to the already challenging site conditions. Basement and tunnel excavation demanded precise shoring and monitoring to protect adjacent urban infrastructure throughout.

The Adrienne Arsht Center is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States and Miami's most significant cultural venue. Central Civil's excavation and site preparation work was the civil foundation for this landmark building.
