Project Overview

CIVIL WORK AT MIAMI'S WATERFRONT ARENA

Central Civil performed structural excavation and backfill for pile cap construction, underground utilities, parking lot paving, roadway construction, and highway lighting for the American Airlines Arena on Biscayne Bay in Miami. Work was performed as a subcontractor to Morse Diesel-Odebrecht under a $2.8 million contract.

The project required precise structural excavation adjacent to the Biscayne Bay waterfront, coordinating with the arena's complex foundation system while managing groundwater conditions typical of Miami's coastal urban environment. Underground utility systems served the arena's parking and roadway infrastructure surrounding the venue.

The American Airlines Arena — now Kaseya Center — stands as Miami's premier live entertainment and NBA venue, and Central Civil's civil work contributed to the waterfront site development that defines the arena's iconic bayside setting.
