Project Overview

BISCAYNE BOULEVARD RECONSTRUCTED

Central Civil served as prime contractor on the $13.2 million SR5 Biscayne Boulevard reconstruction project for FDOT. The scope included construction of approximately 2 miles of new 4-lane roadway from January 2006 through May 2007, including storm drainage, earthwork, paving, curbing and walks, signal and lighting, striping, signage, and landscaping.

The project also included full reconstruction of a major intersection and portions of adjacent roadways. SR5 / Biscayne Boulevard is one of Miami's primary urban arterials, and the project was constructed with continuous maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout.

As prime contractor, Central Civil self-performed the complete civil scope — from initial earthwork and drainage through final roadway surfacing and landscape installation.
