POTABLE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE FOR MIAMI-DADE
Central Civil served as prime contractor on the $15.3 million Southwest Well Fields project for Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department. The scope included excavation and placement of 410,000 cubic yards of lagoon material, construction of 25-foot high berms around the lagoon perimeter, and final grading and sodding across the entire site.
The well field project is a critical component of Miami-Dade County's potable water supply infrastructure, providing raw water collection capacity for the regional water treatment system. Precise grading and berm construction were required to achieve the hydraulic performance specifications established by Miami-Dade Water and Sewer.
Central Civil's self-performed earthwork capability — including mass excavation, mass fill, and finish grading at this scale — made this project executable on schedule in Miami-Dade's challenging subsurface environment.
