Diesel Mechanic—Heavy Equipment
Reports To: SHop manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
  • Resolve equipment issues such as no starts, running repairs and major failures
  • Perform Diagnostics on equipment on and off-site
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair fleet inventory (loaders, excavators, rollers and other earth moving equipment).
  • Correct and prevent equipment malfunctions at the job site
  • Service equipment, as required, to ensure proper operating condition at the job site
  • Responsible for effectively communicating equipment issues to customers and supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and complete service documentation as required
  • Perform safety inspections on equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance when needed
  • Clean work vehicle and work area, as necessary, to maintain a safe work environment
  • Meet all company, governmental, and equipment related safety requirements
  • Training of technicians as needed
  • Other Duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Certified mechanic preferred Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on HD, Diesel, and small engines
  • Experience in construction equipment industry preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read schematics and diagrams
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time-management, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with good interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English
  • Ability to effectively and safely use mechanic’s tools and equipment
  • Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Personal and professional integrity
  • Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
  • Flexibility regarding work assignments

Welder/Fabricator
Reports To: Shop Manager

General Description

A Welder/Fabricator constructs and manufactures metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. Follows blueprints, determines material measurements, and takes responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. Responsible for the quality of output. Must perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and manufacture metal parts for later assembly.
  • Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output.
  • Produce strong, clean welds.
  • Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds.
  • A Welder/Fabricator must constantly inspect and test welds and equipment.
  • Welds are checked for durability as well as meeting specified standards and equipment must be examined to determine if repairs or new equipment is needed.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
  • High school diploma or a GED equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in fabrication.
  • Ability to comprehend blueprints, work specifications, and knowledge of common welding symbols.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds or more.
  • Any other duties as required or assigned by the supervisor.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Welding Certificate completion.
  • Understanding of construction tasks and industrial processes.
  • Excellent color vision and hand dexterity.
